▲ Quiz II ▲

I. This article was about the army's advancements of weapons in china. The Chinese army has made up a new weapon involving a missile. This new weapon has a missile on a moving vehicle making the weapons mobile. Also they created a fuel system to make the vehicle go further distances without needing to refuel it. Also this article talks about how there is a "rat" in government (congress). The US fears that the European and China Military is going to over throw them with there advancement in weaponry.

II. The Opium war crumbled China.  China had recovering drug addicts, strippers, and lazy people who didn't want to work because they wanted more of the drug. The British was still forceful with China. They ( The British ) opened ports to British - Canton, Amoy, Fushou, Ningbo, and Shanghai. They still had power of Chinas trade and Society basically. After a while of fighting and China giving there all to try and ban opium from china the British still had control and embarrassed them by legalizing opium which brought China down.

III. China is in a much better condition then they were then. They now have Opium still legalized but they don't abuse it like they did then which eliminated all the drug dealers, drug addicts, strippers, and all the aggression there was in order to get Opium. People would do CRAZY things to get there hands on Opium. Now since its not used as much as it was before China can focus on advancing themselves as they are doing now. This connects to the article because china advanced making that missile and if people were still abusing Opium like they were then, then the missile would have probably not even been created. People would have been getting high off of Opium.

Homework #14

All the countries Napoleon controlled.

  1. Spain
  2. Italy
  3. Grand Duchy Of Warsaw
The 7 terms

  1. Napoleon Bonaparte was born in 1769. He was A Small man With a big temper. He was also the most powerful man in the world
  2. Coup d'ete - A French phrase for " blow of state "
  3. plebiscite - A vote of the people
  4. lycĂ©es - A French word also government ran public schools
  5. concordat An Agreement
  6. Napoleonic Code - A comprehensive system of flaws
  7. Battle of Trafalgar - The one MAJOR battle Napoleon lost out of all his battles fought

3. Man makes the time and then time makes the man. i think that man makes the time because of the pass the man has set if a man came along and conquered every country consistently he sets the time as a time of battles. Then the time makes the man because over time that man will be noticed more and more and his name will be spread around more. So in essence the Man makes the time and then the time in return makes the man.

4. Napoleon was a risk taker and so he took a risk. Napoleon took the risk of teaming up with force outside of  his network. this could of made him or break him. the other people could of been lying to him just to get to know his plans and then over throw him. but Napoleon was a risk taker so he took that risk. it actually benefited ( the risk ) him! who knows what would have happened if Napoleon would of never took that risk. he would of never been the powerfullest man, he would be mocked for being short with nothing to make him look powerful, and also we wouldn't be studying about him right now

Napoleon was short but cleaver. He took a chance to rule france during a time france need someone powerful to direct them and napoleon was that man. He came along and ruled france during a time of chaos and since everyone was in a panic they believed napolean and did what he asked them to do because they were so confused they didn't know if he could actually help them get out of this panic.

Homework #13

1. I think the first and second estate would disagree with most is statement #4
Why? Because it says everyman should be treated equal and the 1st and 2nd estates thought they were better then everyone in the 3rd estate.

2. # 4
"Liberty consists in the freedom to do everything which injures no one else; hence the exercise of the natural rights of each man has no limits except those which assure to the other members of the society the enjoyment of the same rights. These limits can only be determined by law."

3. This resembles the Declaration Of Rights Of Man i think

Homework #11

Skill Builder:
1.The chart and graphs help explain the political cartoon because the chart says there is less than 1% of the 1st estate and 2% of the second. Now in the picture you see two men on top of a rock with someone under it implying they are special. The 2nd estate is represented by the guy in a loud red fancy jacket implying he is important and powerful, Which is true the 2nd estate was filled with nobles. Now the head of the Roman Catholic Church is wearing regular clothes but a special hat with his hand out as if he is relinquishing the soul of the dead/dying man they are standing on top of. The 3rd estate explanation is brilliant in my opinion you have a guy under a rock being squished begging for them to stop. Here is what I got from this. The two men on the top NEED the man under the rock because he is making the rock still and sturdy and with out that man the rock would tip and they would both be on the ground floor instead of elevated which takes away from their importance. This is EXTREMELY relevant because the 3rd estate had the most power because it made of 98% of the people during that time. So for the other estates to look powerful the would take advantage of the little people.

2. Because they thought they were better then everybody else and they didn't like ANY of the ideas from the enlightenment.

Connect to History
1. The woman on the left looks like she is a regular woman or even a house cleaner. The woman on the left looks like a queen...someone of the royal family...she looks more concerned with her clothes and her image the woman on the right doesn't care about her clothes as much..maybe because she doesn't have money to spend on very expensive clothing.

Part 2.
"Poor" people in amaerica today tend to dress VERY different then middle class people and upper class people of today. For example kids today wear Jordans and Nikes A Poor person wouldnt spend $170 on sneakers they would rather save that money and spend it on food or other important needs, so instead they buy a $20 pair of sketchers. "Poor" people tend to look at things different then other classes do. They arent as materialistic as the other classes
